  • Vivre is the result of an intense collaboration between trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and cellist Jörg Brinkmann. The two musicians first met in Martin Fondse’s Starvinsky Orkestar and have since embarked on an adventurous musical journey together, including in the trio Oliver’s Cinema.
  • For this album, they reunited in an intimate dialogue between trumpet and cello, placing melody, space and emotion at the centre. The project began with an invitation to create an homage to film composer Ennio Morricone – a moment that became the spark for Vivre. Their performance at the pre-premiere of the film Ennio in Eindhoven struck a deep chord with both musicians and sparked the recording sessions that now form this album.
  • Vivre is an ode to life, to beauty and to melancholy. It features arrangements of Morricone’s timeless melodies – including the moving Chi Mai – as well as new compositions by Vloeimans, inspired by French chanson and iconic voices such as Charles Aznavour and Jacques Brel. Their rendition of Vivre (Ma dernière volonté) – known in the Netherlands through Ramses Shaffy’s Laat me – forms the emotional heart of the album.
  • Another source of inspiration is Robert Schumann, whose Kinderszenen blends seamlessly into the stillness and atmosphere of this project. Brinkmann contributed two movements from this cycle, adding further depth to the listening experience.
  • The result is a serene, layered and deeply human album in which improvisation and melody go hand in hand. Vivre invites the listener to engage with full attention – a meditative journey touching on memory, longing and the transformative power of music.

    Horn of Plenty is the second play-along book by trumpeter and composer Eric Vloeimans (1963). This digital edition of the book (download only and available exclusively on this site) contains 11 compositions & Variations to play with and in addition, the download includes 55 audio tracks with accompaniment, for  Cello, French Horn, English Horn, Piano, Violin, Violin, Guitar or Trombone. For inspiration, all tracks were played by Eric Vloeimans himself, the piano part by Sjoerd van Eijck.

    Eric's compositions are characterized by a surprising simplicity, which means that they can be played by both novice and more advanced musicians. So they are interesting for players from all disciplines and inspiring for every musician looking for a unique and individual sound. The compositions below are included in this edition:
